The Magical Cycle Of Gratitude!
Did you know there is pure magic in gratitude?
When we intentionally set out to express gratitude, we start to see more things for which to be grateful AND we see the magical chain reaction that follows.
It is easy to fall into the trap of allowing challenging circumstances to convince us that we have little to be grateful for however simple practices can change that. As soon as I open my eyes I say ‘thank you’ and then begin thinking of 3 or more things for which I am grateful. (I ALWAYS think of more than 3!) It is a wonderfully positive way to start my day and fuels me to deal with any less than favourable issues that may surround me.
How often do you say thank you? It’s an interesting question and I’m not sure many of us would know this answer. And yet, if we DID take note of this and play with the numbers, it could be a very powerful tool for our overall wellbeing.
And I don’t just mean saying thank you when someone hands you something. Think of a time when someone really touched your heart or impressed you with their talent or their service. Did you just emit a mechanical ‘thank you’ from that hole under your nose OR, did you look the person in the eyes and find some words to add to the thank you to personalize your gratitude and give it depth and meaning for the recipient. Did you ask to see the manager to tell him/her how impressed you were with a staff member so that they not only received YOUR thanks but the gratitude of their superiors?
When I was a teenager – I often squirmed my way through experiences with my Mum as she did exactly this! NOW, I see the wisdom in this practice and I find myself emulating my mother’s actions and being the recipient of the abundance that flows to me as a result! (Sorry, Mum!)
Another link in this magical chain that warms my heart is seeing the ‘light go on’ in people’s eyes when I take the time to practice this type of personalized gratitude. Kind of makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad that apparently they don’t hear a heartfelt thank you often enough and happy that my simple act of acknowledging them and their service and the impact it had on me, makes a profound difference in their lives and they walk away with a ‘pep in their step’!
Ultimately, when we express gratitude to someone or for some ‘thing’ we end up depositing into our own ‘happiness account’!
I am forever expressing thanks that doTERRA essential oils came into my life and so I created a blend to support consistent gratitude practices and I accompany its use with an Affirmation. (See

And, like I said, ‘Gratitude’ is magical! When we find more to be thankful for and express intentional and meaningful thanks to those who provide service for us as well as to our higher source, our family and our friends, we will receive MORE for which to be grateful! How good is that? It’s the ultimate ‘win-win’!
We really need to tell more people about this formula! PS Make sure you express gratitude for the miracle that is YOU as well!
